With its soaring cathedral ceilings and enormous wall of windows that frame a magnificent seasonal view, Animal Crossings is a warm and inviting home in a small quaint neighborhood northwest of downtown Blue Ridge.
Perched on a wooded hillside just six miles from downtown Blue Ridge and close to nearby waterfalls, wineries and antique shops, this beautiful five-bedroom cabin is the perfect place for a large family or group of friends to relax, celebrate, and enjoy nature and each other.
Inside, the cabin is spacious, comfortable with a warm and welcoming ambiance and decorated in a modern rustic style with an animal accented decor that reflects its name.
In the main floor living area, with its open floor plan, rich woods, natural stone and exposed beams, you can relax and unwind in front of the gas fireplace and watch the 42” cable and DVD-equipped Smart TV. You’ll prepare everything from snacks to full-on feasts in the spacious kitchen, which has a refrigerator/freezer with icemaker, microwave, electric stove/oven, blender, toaster, crockpot and coffee maker. The dining table can accommodate eight, plus four at the island.
If you’re in the mood for barbecue, there’s a gas grill on the main level deck, where a screened-in living area with four chairs and four rockers invite you to gather and relax under the stars. There’s a hanging swing on the lower deck and a fire pit for your marshmallow-toasting pleasure.
For indoor fun, there are pool and foosball tables, board games and puzzles in the downstairs game room, which has a gas fireplace and a 42” Smart TV with DVD.
The five bedrooms are cozy and beautifully appointed, with an animal theme represented in the decor and wooden signage above each bed. On the main level, Eagle’s Nest, the master bedroom, has a king bed, deck access, a 40” Smart TV, and private bath with a double vanity and walk-in shower. Bear Cave on the same level has a queen bed and private bath with one sink and tub/shower.
Downstairs, Deer Haven, the master, has a king bed, deck access, a 32” Smart TV, and a private bath with double vanity and tub/shower. Fox Hole has a queen bed and a bath with shower and single sink. Cub Den is the aptly named kids’ bedroom, with a full bed and twin bunks that youngsters will love. There’s an additional half bath on the main level.
Animal Crossings’ other features and amenities include WiFi, cable, laundry facilities, and ceiling fans throughout. Access is easy on a paved/gravel road, with a gravel driveway.
If you want relaxation, family fun and a vacation you’ll remember for years to come, you’ll find it here in a spectacular mountain setting.
Other things to note
House is not baby-proofed on the inside. There is a baby gate provided to block off the stairs to the basement. Pack and Play is also available if needed!
For your stay, starter supply of toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags and dishwasher pods is provided. You will be responsible for replenishing if they run out.

Policies & Rules
Payment Schedule – 50% due at the time of booking and 50% due 30 days prior to arrival.
Damage Deposit – A pre-authorization of $500 is due 2 days before arrival and released 7 days after departure, if no damages are reported.
Cancellation Policy –
Cancelations made at least 30 days prior to travel dates guest will receive 97% back of payments made. Guest receives 47% if cancelation occurs at least 14 days before arrival. No refunds within 14 days of arrival date.
3% withheld for card processing fees.
We love communicating with our guests. To ensure nothing is missed or lost in translation, we are available via email or text. At time of booking, you will be required to read and sign a short-term rental agreement, provide a security deposit and provide a copy of a government issued ID for guest booking reservation. Once check out is complete, no damage is confirmed and it appears all house rules and check out procedures have been adhered to, your security deposit hold will be released. Please note that this may take up to 7 business days.
Due to same day arrival and departures, regretfully, we are unable to accommodate early check-in or late check-out requests. We ask that you do not interrupt the cleaning crew as this will only delay your check-in. The cleaning crew is not authorized to allow anyone access to the property. 1. No pets of any kind.
2. The property is surveilled. Any tampering with/moving/redirecting/covering/disconnecting WiFi or devices or outdoor cameras or doorbells will result in immediate cancellation of your reservation and you will be required to leave and vacate the premises immediately. Please understand that we do not sit and watch the cameras, but this is our home and investment, and we have these measures in place to protect our home and us. We want to ensure rules are being followed. There are no cameras in any private areas that guests have use of inside the home. There are a few closets in the home that are locked and not available for guests use as they are storage areas. Do not attempt to break in or unlock these doors as the inside area of these locked storage areas have surveillance. Please note by booking this property you waive your option to disable surveillance.
3. No smoking inside, please use the ash tray provided. Cigarette butts in the yard will incur extra cleaning fees that will be withheld from your deposit.
4. Guests staying longer than 1 week can request housekeeping services at an additional cost to provide clean linens and towels and clean living areas. Please contact the host for information on additional cost if housekeeping services are wanted.
5. Parties are not allowed as this home is in a quiet neighborhood.
6. For insurance and safety purposes, all guests must be listed and accounted for on your reservation/itinerary. No more than 12 guests may stay at any time.
7. It is strongly recommended that you purchase travel insurance when booking our home. Sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise, weather, illness, emergencies etc, which could cause you to need to cancel your trip or end it prematurely. If you choose not to obtain travel insurance, please know that we will abide by our cancellation policy and no refunds will be provided should you decline to protect your travel. If you book this unit, that action constitutes agreement with this policy. Under no circumstances will guest receive a reduction in rent, be relocated at owner’s expense or be refunded for any equipment or amenity failure. Property manager/owner, upon being notified by guest of any malfunction will make every reasonable effort to have such appliances/amenities repaired. Replacement or repair during occupancy cannot be guaranteed. Issues must be reported to owner within 24 hours of arrival.
